Recording the land and sea
With the aim of gaining a closer understanding of the land and sea, I explored and recorded Hilbre Island through different techniques. By using charcoal rubbings, clay impressions, photographic recording, direct observation and note taking I gathered valuable information for the project which will inform the creation of artworks that address how land, sea and humans interact and exchange information - that being chemical exchanges, physical impressions as well as, from a human perspective, the creation of dialogues and stories. Description of places within the island as well as understanding how people interact with the island (through direct interviewing of local people and hearing their particular stories) will contribute to a well rounded understanding of the site of enquiry.
